Police radio, New patrol car goes into service

The Wayne Police Department received a big boost toward modernization and more efficient service with the installation of a police radio in the patrol car.

The new radio system has stations at both the police station and the municipal light plant.

The police car can be called by radio from either place and persons wanted to contact the officer on duty can do so by calling number 51 through the telephone co.

Phones will then ring in both places and in the absence of an officer at the police station, the man on duty at the light plant will summon the officer in the patrol through the radio.

The police also put a new police car into service.
