Geography Wiz in Wayne
Wayne Middle School Principal Dick Metteer congratulated this year's Middle School Winner in the school-level competition of a National Geography Bee conducted by the National Geographic Society.
Eighth grader Matt Youngmeyer placed first in the school-level competition and now takes a written examination to be forwarded to the National Geographic Society for possible participation in a statewide competition.
State winners will advance to the national championship where first prize, a $25,000 college scholarship, will be awarded in Washington D.C.
