Two Wayne Boy Scouts get Pro Deo et Patria Awards from churches

Two Wayne Scouts received the Pro Deo et Patria Award Sunday for service to their churches. The recipients: David Jensen
at Redeemer Lutheran Church and David Shiery at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The God and Country award presentations
resulted form many hours of study on church theology and history plus completion of service projects for the scout's respective churches.

Jensen, member of Troop 175, is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jensen. His scoutmaster, John S. K. de Freese, who made the
citation. This Pro Deo et Patria Award is the sixth earned by a church. At St. Paul's church Shiery was presented to the Rev.
Robert Shirck by Richard Kern, adviser of Explorer Post 174. David is the son of Mrs. John H. Shiery and the late Rev. John H.
Shiery, who was pastor of St. Paul's from 1948 to 1952.
