January 23, 1975 — Services are set for Dr. W.A. Brandenburg

Memorial services for Dr. William A. Brandenburg are planned for 3:30 this afternoon (Thursday) in Ramsey Theater in the Val Peterson Fine Arts Center on Wayne State campus. Dr. Brandenburg, who would have been 65 years old on Sunday, died at Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha Monday. He had been hospitalized there since Dec. 18. Dr. Brandenburg was president at Wayne State from July of 1956 to March of last year when he resigned his post to take a leave of absence before joining the college faculty as a history teacher. He took over as college president following the death of John D. Rice. While
president, he saw the college enrollment grow from 900 students to more than 3,000 in the fall of 1968 when it peaked.
