WHS grad accepted into med college

Bruce Ring, a 1970 graduate of Wayne High School, has been accepted at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine at Omaha, starting July 9.

Having completed three years at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he ranks among the top 16 students with a cumulative grade average of 3.98.

He is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi music fraternity and Phi Eta Sigma honorary fraternity. An officer of NU-MEDS organization, he attended the President's White House Conference on Youth in Washington, D.C., served as health aide and health aide coordinator for Abel Hall and was a member of the school's pep band, concert band and Cornhusker marching band.

He was active in the choir and youth groups of Capital City Christian Church during the past three years.

Bruce, recipient of a Regent's scholarship, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Ring of rural Wayne and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Ring of Wakefield.
