March 20, 1975 — Winside preacher-cop 'helping people'

Being both a policeman and a preacher isn't difficult. Fact is, there's hardly any difference between the two, says Clarence Feasel of Winside. Feasel, who took over as fulltime policeman in Winside last month, was ordained two years ago after graduating from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo. What makes that unusual is the fact he never graduated from high school. "I was kicked out of 10th grade when I broke a boy's arm," Feasel reflected about his boyhood in Los Angeles. Feasel first got police experience in 1955 when he worked for a private company in Los Angeles. Besides guarding businesses, he also worked in bars breaking up fights.
