Providence PT hosts sixth-annual BikeFest

BikeFest 2012 was held May 14 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.

The goal of this event is to foster a safe riding experience for children and adults. A total of 65 participants of all ages attended BikeFest.

Physical therapists from Providence Physical Therapy completed bike and helmet fit assessments and adjustments. Mark and Tammy Evetovich performed minor bike adjustments, checked brakes and checked and filled bike tires.

Marlen Chinn and Lee Wrede with the Wayne Police Department performed bike licensing. Kris Hinnerichs and Charissa Loftis led bike rides on the Wayne Bike Trail and reviewed bike safety and "rules of the road."

Helmets and other cycling-related prizes were given away throughout the event. Pac 'N' Save and Quality Foods donated nutritious snacks.

Jace Piper, son of Jeff and Jessie Piper, was the winner of the new bike donated by Providence Physical Therapy and Albrecht Cycle Shop of Sioux City, Iowa.

Anyone who was unable to attend BikeFest this year may contact the physical therapists at Providence Physical Therapy (402) 375-7937 for bike or helmet adjustments.
