Local band is making its name known

A living room is their studio. Their amplifiers are homemade. But their music is good and their name is becoming known in the Wayne Area.

The band, known as Freefall, has five members - all students at Wayne-Carrol High School. The members of the group are as excited about performing as their fans are about listening.

Freefall rehearses two or three times a week, usually in the home of one of the group members. Their most popular practice studio is the Darrel Fuelberth living room.

Dean Fuelberth, 15, is the band's drummer and the youngest member of the group. Chris Hillier, 17, sings and plays guitar, bass, and keyboard. David Garlick, 16, is the lead singer for most of the band's songs and also plays guitar and bass.

Blaine Johs, 17, plays guitar, bass and synthesizer. Gregg Elliott, is the band's other singer. He also plays bass, saxophone, synthesizer, and wood blocks.

All five individuals have been involved in some type of music most of their lives. They are active in vocal and instrumental music at the high school.

Band members say their music includes a little bit of everything except country western. Their sound includes pop, rock, new wave, punk, soft rock, and heavy metal music.
