Band wins honors
Top marching band honors went to Wayne's city schools band at the firemen's convention in Norfolk last week.
George Konpik, director, and Mary Johnson, majorette, accept the band's trophy from Wayne firemen Leonard Schmidt and A. E. Davison. The group won the first place award over seven other bands that participated in the parade.
