Writers plan autograph party for Wayne author

Mrs. Norma Shirck, Wayne, will be honored Sunday afternoon at an autograph party at the Donal Reed home, 902 Douglas.

The party is sponsored by the Wayne Writers' Club. Mrs. Frank Thompson, former Wayne resident now living in Lincoln will be a special guest. A past member of the Wayne Writers' Club, Mrs. Thompson will bring copies of a children's poem she wrote.

The 64 line poem, "What Shall I Do With the Hole That I Dug?", is now on sale in book form at Lincoln department stores. Mrs. Shirck's book, published in late October, is entitled "Christmas is for Everyone." The background for this story is the living nativity
scene stages by St. Paul's Lutheran Church for the past three years.

"The people in the congregation are having fun identifying with the characters in the story," Mrs. Shirck said. "I did leave some of the real names Like Peppermint, and Larry and his black lamb." The book is illustrated by Gale Hendrickson, a professional
artist from Minneapolis. The publisher is Augsburg Co. The book is for children eight year old and younger.
