From the Oct. 28, 1971 edition of The Wayne Herald:

New additions to Medical Center

A large "core" unit is the proposed Medical Center that will house all such facilities as emergency and surgery suites, radiology and physical therapy area.

Patient beds are in the area at left which also features a central nursing station. The original sketch was drawn for a 30 patient-bed structure, but present plans call for 50 beds which will require a longer extension to the left.

The 42,025 square foot plant will be more than four times larger than the 10,400 square feet of the present hospital's four floors.
