October 29, 1964 — Jan Peerce Sings at WSC Wednesday

Metropolitan Opera tenor Jan Peerce will appear in a concert at Wayne State's Rice auditorium next Wednesday night. One of the most celebrated singers of our time Peerce will sing here on his annual American concert tour under the management of S. Hurok. The performance begins at 6 p.m. Tickets for the public will be sold at the door. Peerce has established a reputation of supremacy in any music, from opera to popular tunes, and has received wild ovations for both. He has sung on five continents and was the first American artist to sing with the Bolshoi Opera in Moscow. Last year he made his second tour of
Russia, gave his first recitals in Paris, and sang in Israel the world premiere in Hebrew of Beethoven's "Fidelio."
