October 4, 1984 — World Relief secretary speaking during LWML Fall Rally in Carroll

The Rev. Melvin Witt, secretary of World Relief of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, will be the featured speaker at the Lutheran Womens Missionary League (LWML) Fall Rally scheduled Thursday, Oct. 11 in Carroll. The rally, which is being hosted by the Ladies Aid of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Carroll, will begin at 9 a.m. in the Carroll city auditorium. Pastor Witt, a native of Independence, Kan., is a graduate of St. john's Lutheran College, Winfield, Kan., and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. He served as Air Force Military chaplain from 1952 until 1972. Overseas assignments have included two tours in Japan, 30 months in Tripoli, and 13 months in Vietnam.
