October 8, 1964 —Weekend Festivities Set For Wayne State Homecoming

A circus spirit will pervade Wayne this weekend when Wayne State stages its big carnival called homecoming. The theme of "Wayne State Showtime" dictates ideas for floats and campus displays, and to top it off there'll be a genuine circus calliope to set the mood for the Saturday morning parade and afternoon football game. As usual, Saturday is the big day, starting with the traditional parade of bands and floats and celebrities at 10 a.m., up Main Street to the campus. Many campus organizations are building "Showtime" floats. Also riding in the cavalcade will be the five homecoming queen candidates, Marjorie Forbes of Wayne, Cindy Mintken of Fremont, Gwen Rush of West Point, Janet Sedivy of Bozeman, Mont., and Sue Weich of Hoskins.
