Student gifts flowers from Hawaii

A freshman Co-Ed from Hawaii quickly endeared herself to Pile Hall dormitory mates Monday.

Reason: Joyce Sodetani brought from her home in Wailuku, several boxes of orchids and other exotic flowers which she presented to the girls as they arrived.

She is pictured giving a bouquet of anthurium to Jean Henry a Pile student counselor and president of the Student Council.

Explained the bubbling newcomer: "I thought orchids would be as unusual to the girls here as snow will be to me."
