This year's 100th anniversary of the Wayne County Fair evoked memories for the Milton Owens family.

Milton, who is celebrating his 90th birthday this month, became a member of the Blue Ribbon Winners 4-H Club 77 years ago.

At least one member of the family has been involved with the 4-H Club since that time, including his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Owens family provided the following information about both the 4-H Club and those who have been part of the 4-H program.

The Blue Ribbon Winners 4-H Club was organized in 1945 by leaders Robert Waller and Irv Graves of Carroll. Some of the first members were Larry Jordon, Ken Graves, Milton Owens and Keith Owens, Lowell Owens, Gordon Davis, Larry Williams and Norvall Waller.

Milton Owens' family was the second generation to be a part of the club.

David Owens and Megan (Owens) Marr were members, showing calves for many years.

David's family became the third generation to be members of the Blue Ribbon Winners 4-H Club.

Jennifer (Owens) Munsell, Nichole Owens and Heather (Owens) Frank enjoyed membership, showing horses, calves, sheep, cats, dogs, and rabbits and exhibiting baking projects.

The next fourth generation to be involved with the club were Jennifer's family - Jayse Munsell, Marissa Munsell and Ashton Munsell, and Heather's family - Alex Frank and Addison Frank. They also showed horses, calves, sheep, cats, dogs, and entered baking projects.

Ashton, Alex and Addison are current members of Blue Ribbon Winners.
