Members of the Wayne High School Speech Team took part in the Pierce Invitational March 2.
The following is a list of results from the event:
Ava Elliot, sixth in Persuasive; Alondra Vega, fifth in Poetry; Nyamalo Kantai, fifth in Program Oral Interpretation; Colby Raulston, fifth in POI; Jordyn Clinchard, fifth in Informative; Parker Kesting, fourth in Informative; the Oral Interpretation of Drama team of Adreinne Anderson, Norah Armstrong, Grace Junck, Josie Ley, and Kennasyn Blecke, fifth; the OID of Aidan Bohnert, Johen Piper, Gavin Anderson, Gabriel Armstrong, and Colby Raulston fourth; the Duet Acting team of Aidan Bohnert and Alec Shaffer, fourth; Ceilus Ibarra, third in Poetry; and Alec Schaffer, third in Humorous.
Wayne also brought home three event championships on the day: Parker Kesting in Extemp.; Sophia Spieker in Entertainment; and the Duet of Colby Raulston and Madalyn Franta.
In the team sweepstakes, Wayne finished in second place, one point behind champion Boone Central.
"So ends the regular season for the Blue Devil Speakers. Next up is the District B-3 Meet at the Wayne State campus on Monday, March 11," said Wayne High Head Speech Coach Dwaine Spieker.
