Wayne Community School Board of Education to hold special meeting to review 2019 facility plan

The Wayne Community Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Junior/Senior High School Gym.

The purpose of the meeting will be to provide information on the 2019 Master Facility Plan, and seek feedback from the community on the plan.

In January 2020, Carlson West Povondra Architects completed the Master Facility Study, and presented results to the school board. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that began in March 2020, the school board suspended work on the facility plan.

In the fall of 2021, the school board engaged in a comprehensive strategic planning process that involved stakeholder feedback from patrons of the community. Through this process, the board identified district resources and facilities as a top priority moving forward.

At the March 14 school board meeting, the board directed Superintendent Dr. Mark Lenihan to hold a community meeting to review the 2019 strategic plan, and seek community feedback. All patrons of the community are invited to attend the March 29 meeting.
