Wildcats slide two spots to #8

After splitting home matches against a pair of top-20 nationally ranked opponents, Wayne State College volleyball remained among the top 10 in the most recent AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.

According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, the Wildcats received 860 points in voting from various Division II coaches across the country. WSC dropped two spots to #8.

Wayne State College is coming off a 3-0 home sweep over previously ranked #20 Minnesota Duluth (now #24) along with a five-set loss to #5 St. Cloud State (remained #5) this past weekend.

The Wildcats are 14-3 overall and 8-1 in the NSIC.

#1 Tampa (10-0) remains at the top spot with 41 first place votes, followed by #2 MSU Denver (14-1) with two first place votes and #3 Nebraska-Kearney (19-0) the remaining first place vote.

Other NSIC team ranked inside the top 25 include #5 St. Cloud State (14-2), remained fifth; #7 Southwest Minnesota State (17-1), remained seventh; #12 Concordia-St. Paul (13-4), moved up one spot; #23 Northern State (11-4), fell two spots and #24 Minnesota Duluth (9-7), fell four spots. Minnesota State-Mankato (nine) was also receiving votes and listed on two or more ballots.
