Laura J. Redoutey, FACHE, Nebraska Hospital Association President, recently announced the appointment of Galen Wiser of Wayne, ex officio member of the Providence Medical Center Board of Directors, as the Trustee Representative to the Nebraska Hospital Association Board of Directors.
In a recent article in the spring edition of the Healthier Nebraska magazine, Wiser was quoted as saying, “It is with great pride that I can serve the NHA as Trustee Representative to the board. One year ago on Valentine’s Day, I rode the ambulance from Providence Medical Center in Wayne to the Medical Center in Omaha. I survived obviously and I am eternally grateful to PMC and the Medical Center for saving my life. My affiliation with Providence, the American Hospital Committee on Governance, the Western Regional Trustees Symposium and now the NHA is simply giving back. My hope is that over time I can be a contributing board member to the NHA.”
“Galen Wiser served on the Providence Medical Center Board of Directors for six years, ending as Board Chairman in December of 2015,” says hospital CEO, Jim Frank. “Galen has been a tireless advocate for northeast Nebraska healthcare and especially Providence Medical Center. Our hospital is better because of his service,” Frank said.
According to Healthier Nebraska, the NHA Board of Directors works closely with NHA members to provide knowledge regarding state and federal legislative advocacy, health care trends and regulatory information, educational programming, communication, data reports and special services.
