Wayne State College men’s basketball coach Jeff Kaminsky announced that Trey Deveaux has signed with the Wildcats for the 2023-24 season.

He joins Zach Anderson of Sherburn, Minn., Landon Classen of O’Neill, JJ Ferrin from Omaha, Aiden Sullivan of Olathe, Kan., and Wade Voss from Lincoln as members of the 2023 Wildcat recruiting class.

“Since we started the recruitment process with Trey we were convinced and excited about how well he would fit into our program,” remarked Coach Kaminsky. “We have been impressed with Trey’s development over the past two seasons and believe he will have an immediate impact in our program on both ends of the court.”

Deveaux is a 6-foot-5 small forward that played the last two seasons at Central Community College in Columbus and has two seasons of eligibility with the Wildcats. A graduate of Norris High School, Deveaux earned NJCAA All-America First Team honors this season averaging 18.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He helped the Raiders to a 22-11 record and a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament. Deveaux shot 47 percent from the field and 74.2 percent at the charity stripe while earning NJCAA All-Region 9 and Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference honors.

At Norris High School, Deveaux helped the Titans to a pair of Class B State Tournament appearances and averaged 17 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest as a senior leading Norris to a 19-3 record and Class B semifinals. He also earned Class B All-State honors at Norris High School.

Kaminsky added, “Trey’s versatility on the defensive end will fit in well with our system. His scoring ability and how we can utilize his strengths in our offense will make him a difficult matchup. Trey is a tough, intelligent player and has already proven that he can play a major role in a successful program and we look forward to his continued development.”
