July 15, 2004 —Grosz is named interim director
Wayne State College interim Athletic Director Mike Barry has announced that Mike Grosz has been hired as Interim Sports Information Director. Grosz has over 17 years of media experience in the Wayne area. He served as sports editor at the Wayne Herald for the past two years and spent 15 years as sports director at KTCH Radio in Wayne from 1987-2002. He was the play-by-play voice for Wayne State women's basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball teams and served as color-commentator for football and men's basketball. Grosz also worked one year (1985) at KEHG Radio in Fosston, Minn. Grosz, who began his duties at WSC on July 6, replaces Steve Schaefer, who resigned earlier this year to take a coaching position at North Park University in Chicago, Illi.
