LCC unable to hold off fourth quarter momentum from Wolfpack

Two northeast Nebraska football program were in search for their first win of the season moving into week three of the NSAA season.

From Laurel, Sept. 13 marked the second straight home contest as Tri County Northeast (Allen/Emerson-Hubbard) was in town.

For three quarters neither team would pull more than two scores ahead until the visiting Wolfpack used a 20-point fourth quarter to secure a 36-16 victory. Tri County Northeast is now 1-2 on the season while the host Bears fell to 0-3.

Tri County Northeast produced the lone first quarter touchdown and two-point conversion to lead 8-0. The Wolfpack scored once more in the second quarter and added the two-point conversion to lead 16-0.

LCC answered before half thanks to a 36-yard rushing touchdown from Eli Haisch who also ran in for the two-point try. LCC trailed 16-8 at the break.

The lone third quarter favored Laure-Concord-Coleridge on an 11-yard pass from Gibson Roberts. Kolten Settje ran in the two-point conversion to tie the game at 16 all.

Tri County Northeast then shined in the fourth quarter using touchdowns of 71-yards through the air as well as 41 yards and four yards on the ground. The Wolfpack were 1-3 on two-point conversions and picked up the 36-18 victory.

For LCC, Roberts finished 9-21 for 75 yards and one passing touchdown while adding 26 yards on eight attempts.

Haisch rushed for 101 yards on 16 carries with one touchdown. The leading receiver was Caleb Erwin with six receptions for 44 yards.

Connor Korth paced the Bears with 21 tackles (10 solo) and one tackle for loss, Settje added 11 tackles (nine solo) as Haisch finished with 13 tackles (seven solo). Cade Johnson recorded a sack as Kyle Rasmussen tacked on a tackle for loss. Both Tanner Thompson and Haisch recovered a fumble.
