From the March 10, 2012 edition of The Wayne Herald:

Benefit meal set for March 18, will assist Duane Bargholz

A steak sandwich meal will be prepared by the Nebraska Cattlemen as part of a benefit for Duane (DO-E) Bargholz on Sunday, March 18.

The event will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the National Guard Armory in Wayne.

Proceeds from the event, with supplemental funding from Thrivent for Lutherans, will assist Bargholz and his family with medical expenses.

Bargholz has experienced complications associated with diabetes and has been unable to work for approximately four months.

He underwent surgery that later required two visits each day to Providence Medical Center for injections of antibiotics.

In addition to the meal a silent auction will be conducted and a 42 inch TV will be raffled during the event.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the silent auction is asked to contact Merlin Felt at (402) 287-2488 or (402) 369-1069 or Jim Lutt at (402) 375-1975 or (402) 375-8854.

An account in Bargholz's name has been set up at First National Bank in Wayne for anyone wishing to contribute.
