Wayne Post 43, Wakefield Post 81 American Legion baseball scores from June 4 - 9

Both Wayne and Wakefield American Legion baseball was busy at work with regular season Ralph Bishop Leauge games along with the 2025 Max Greve Wakefield/Wayne Wood Bat Tourney.

Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 hosted Plainview on June 9; Wakefield Post 81  visited Ponca on June 9; Wayne Seniors and Juniors as well as Wakefield Seniors cmoopeted in the Wood Bat Tourney June 6 - 8; Wayne hosted Tekamah-Herman on June 6 and Wayne visited Wakefield on June 4.

Wayne Seniors/Juniors:

A fourth straight day of Post 43 American Legion baseball took over early June.

From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, Rolling Hills Supply welcomed Plainview Post 148 on Monday, June 9 in Ralph Bishop League play.

The Wayne Seniors improved to 9-0 thanks to an 11-3 victory while the Wayne Juniors (6-2) won 9-1.

In the Seniors outing, Jaxson Kneifl singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored three runs while Gavin Redden singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Chase Sturm singled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Hayden Kelley singled and drove in two runs; Alex Rodriguez, Ethan Synovec and Brayden Rajaee-Hallgren all singled and scored; Gavin Anderson accounted for two RBI as Drew Reinhardt scored.

Rajaee-Hallgren (54 pitches) picked up the win in three innings allowing three earned runs off five hits while striking out one batter and walking three. Spencer Moormeier (39) worked two innings allowing two hits while striking out three batters, walking one and hitting one.

During the Juniors contest, Kneifl singled, doubled, tripled, drove in two runs and scored twice; Spencer Moormeier doubled and drove in two runs while Chase Nelson doubled, drove in a run and scored.

Aiden Peterson singled, drove in a run and scored; Chase Sturm singled and drove in a run; Brodey Munter singled and scored; Easton Endicott singled; Blake Smith scored twice as Reece Ames scored.

Sturm (91 pitches) picked up the complete game victory in five innings allowing one run off four hits while striking out six batters and walking four.

On June 11, Wayne Seniors (10-0) won 6-3 and Juniors (7-2) won 6-1 vs. Lakeview (Columbus). Wayne will next host Twin River on Thursday, June 12 at 5:30/8 p.m. and at Dakota Valley Panthers on Sunday, June 15 at 2/4 p.m. for a Seniors only doubleheader.

 

Wakefield Seniors/Juniors:

After just one Post 81 American Legion baseball team was in action over the weekend, Wakefield Seniors and Juniors both took to a northeast Nebraska diamond to open the week.

From Ponca Post 117, Wakefield Post 81 Seniors won 4-0 to improve to 3-5 as the Wakefield Post 81 Juniors dropped their fifth straight game (0-5) on the season suffering a 10-9 loss.

In the Seniors outing, Jesse Lundahl singled, doubled and scored; Mason Lamprecht doubled, drove in a run and scored as Ruben Vega doubled.

Cael Johnson singled as single runs came from Jacob Birkley and Tanner Thompson.

Lundahl (84 pitches) picked up the complete game shutout victory in seven innings allowing three hits while striking out 16 batters and walking one.

During the Juniors contest, Wakefield Post 81 led 9-5 entering the final half inning until Ponca produced five runs to win in walk-off fashion.

Ruben Vega singled twice, doubled and scored; Tristan Connell singled, doubled and scored as Tanner Thompson singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice.

Weston Patefield singled and drove in three runs; Jacob Birkley singled and scored three times as single runs came from Matthew Metzler and Landon Newton.

Newton (54 pitches) started the opening four innings allowing two earned runs off two hits while striking out four batters and walking one.

Drake McAfee (71) worked an inning and two-thirds allowing eight earned runs off three hits while striking out three batters and walking seven. Birkley (9) didn't record an out allowing two hits.

Wakefield Post 81 Seniors (3-6) lost 3-1 and Juniors (1-5) won 13-7) at South Sioux City on Wednesday, June 11. Wakefield is off until Monday, June 16 hosting Plainview at 5:30/8 p.m.

Also, Wakefield will be hosting the Chuck Ellis Tourney. Games will be scheduled for early July with participating teams still be finalized.

 

Wayne Seniors Wood Bat:

Four games in three days with the wood bat is what it took for Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 to win the Senior Division of a northeast Nebraska Tournament.

The 2025 Max Greve Wakefield/Wayne Wood Bat tourney lasted June 6 - 8.

From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, the Post 43 Seniors first won 4-1 over Lennox Post 174 and followed with a 9-1 victory against Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells. On Sunday also in Wayne, Post 43 secured a 10-2 win against BDS to land a spot in the Wood Bat finals.

Moving over to Eaton Field in Wakefield Sunday night, Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 Seniors made quick work of Frontier Bank Pender Post 55 with a 10-0 win in six innings.

Wayne moved to 8-0 on the season through games played on June 8.

For the weekend, Ethan Synovec posted a team-high five hits (four singles, a three-run homerun) while Gavin Redden (three singles, one double) and Hayden Kelley (four singles) both added four hits.

Drew Reinhardt and Synovec both drove in a team-leading six RBI, followed by Jaxson Kneifl and Chase Nelson both with three RBI.

Synovec crossed the plate six times, Redden and Kneifl both tallied five runs as Kaleb Moormeier scored four times.

Synovec (106 pitches) and Redden (75) both worked six innings starting one game each. Against Lennox, Synovec allowed one run off three hits while striking out 10 batters, walking two and hitting three while against Pender in the finals, Redden allowed five hits while striking out seven batters.

Gavin Anderson (76) and Alex Rodriguez (95) both pitched five innings starting one game each. Against Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells, Anderson allowed an earned run off three hits while striking out eight batters and walking one while against BDS, Rodriguez allowed two earned runs off three hits while striking out six batters, walking four and hitting one.

In the Juniors Division, Malcolm picked up an 8-0 win over O'Neill.

 

Wayne Juniors Wood Bat:

Rolling Hills Supply Post 43 Juniors played three pool play games during the Max Greve Wood Bat Tournament.

From Eaton Field in Wakefield, Post 43 first suffered a 2-1 loss to Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells on June 6 before winning 7-1 over Lennox Post 174 on June 7 at Hank Overin Field in Wayne. On June 8 also in Wayne, Post 43 Juniors ended the tourney with a 2-0 loss to O'Neill.

Wayne moved to 5-2.

Stats from the 7-1 win over Lennox on Saturday were missing due to the ipad overheating.

Unofficial stats for the weekend, Chase Sturm recorded four hits (three singles, one double) as Easton Endicott added three singles.

Endicott and Blade Nelson accounted for one RBI each as Jaxson Kneifl and Brodey Munter each crossed the plate once (six runs missing from Lennox game).

Reece Ames (104 pitches) pitched six innings of the 17 total team innings starting one game. He allowed two earned runs off nine hits while striking out six batters, walking one and hitting two.

Parker Patefield (83) worked four innings starting one game. He allowed two earned runs off four hits while striking out five batters, walking three and hitting four.

Endicott (75) came in for four innings starting one game. He allowed an earned run off five hits while striking out one batter, walking three and hitting two.

Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 won 10-0 over Frontier Bank Pender Post 55 in the Max Greve Wood Bat Seniors finals Sunday night.

In the Juniors Division, Malcolm picked up an 8-0 win over O'Neill.

 

 

Wakefield Seniors only Wood Bat:

It was a busy three days for Wakefield Post 81 Senior American Legion baseball with a trio of games during the Max Greve Wood Bat Tournament.

From Eaton Field in Wakefield, Post 81 first won 11-1 over Pierce on Friday, June 6; picked up an 8-5 victory against Sutton Post 61 on Saturday, June 7 before suffering a 14-4 loss on Sunday, June 8 to Frontier Bank Pender Post 55.

Wakefield Seniors are now 2-5 on the season.

For the weekend, Jacob Birkley and Jesse Lundahl both singled four times while Cael Johnson added three hits (two singles, one double).

Lundahl posted a team-high five RBI as Mason Lamprecht, Matthew Metzler and Turner Thompson all had two RBI.

Birkley led the team with five runs scored while Tanner Thompson and Lundahl each crossed the plate three times.

Lamprecht (118 pitches) pitched five and two-thirds of the 16 innings pitched appearing in two games and starting one. He allowed eight runs (five earned) off six hits while striking out six batters, walking eight and hitting one.

Johnson (80) worked five innings starting one game. He allowed an earned run off three hits while striking out eight batters and walking four.

Tanner Thompson (99) came in for four and a third innings starting one game. He allowed five earned runs off four hits while striking out five batters and walking four.

Amongst a weekend wood bat tournament, Rolling Hills Supply Wayne 43 used their aluminum bats for a Friday, June 6 home doubleheader.

From Hank Overin Field in Wayne, Post 43 welcomed Ralph Bishop League Tekamah-Herman.

The Wayne Seniors won 12-1 in five innings to improve to 4-0 while the Wayne Juniors picked up a 10-0 victory in five innings to move to 4-1.

In the Seniors outing, Gavin Redden singled, doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored three times; Drew Reinhardt doubled twice and drove in six runs while Alex Rodriguez doubled, drove in two runs and scored.

Ethan Synovec singled, drove in two runs and scored three times; Jaxson Kneifl singled and scored three times as single runs came from Kaleb Moormeier and Sam Etter-Gomez.

Brodrick Tiedtke (53 pitches) picked up the win in three innings allowing one run off two hits while striking out four batters and walking two. Gavin Anderson (24) worked the final two innings striking out two batters and walking one.

During the Juniors contest, James Birkel singled, doubled and scored twice as Blake Smith doubled, drove in a run and scored.

Jaxson Kneifl singled, drove in two runs and scored; Reece Ames accounted for two RBI; Spencer Moormeier scored twice as single runs came from Brodey Munter, Easton Endicott, Chase Sturm and Chase Nelson.

Camden Hall (71 pitches) picked up the win in four innings allowing four hits while striking out six batters and walking three. Blade Nelson (23) worked the final inning allowing one hit while striking out three batters and walking one.

 

Wayne at Wakefield legion games:


Ahead of a weekend northeast Nebraska tournament two local Ralph Bishop League American Legion baseball teams played each other on June 4.

From Eaton Field in Wakefield, Rolling Hills Supply Wayne Post 43 visited Post 81.

In eight innings, the Wayne Seniors picked up a 6-1 victory while the Wayne Juniors secured an 18-1 win as both Post 43 teams moved to 3-0. Both Wakefield teams fell to 0-4. All but Wakefield Jrs pitching stats were provided by Wayne GC.

During the Seniors outing, Wayne plated five runs in the top of the eighth.

Drew Reinhardt singled twice, doubled, drove in two runs and scored while Adrian Contreras and Brayden Rajaee-Hallgren both doubled and scored.

Ethan Synovec singled, drove in two runs and scored Jaxson Kneifl and Gavin Redden both scored.

Gavin Anderson (26 pitches) picked up the win in the final inning and two-thirds striking out all five batters he faced.

Redden (59) started the opening three and a third innings allowing one run off four hits while striking out eight batters. Contreras (39) worked two and two-thirds allowing one hit while striking out six batters.

For Wakefield, Adrian Flores and Mason Lamprecht both doubled while Tanner Thompson singled and drove in a run.

Jacob Birkley and Matthew Metzler both singled as Cael Johnson scored.

Lamprecht (35 pitches) suffered the loss in the final innings allowing four earned runs off three hits while striking out two batters, walking one and hitting one. Jesse Lundahl (105/max pitches) started the opening six and two-thirds allowing an earned run off three hits while striking out nine batters and walking three.

From the Juniors outing, Wayne scored 11 runs in the sixth inning.

Easton Endicott singled three times, tripled, drove in three runs and scored four times; Chase Nelson singled, doubled twice, drove in three runs and scored twice while Jaxson Kneifl singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored. Brodey Munter also singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice as Chase Sturm singled twice, drove in two runs and scored.

James Birkel singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Blake Smith singled and scored twice Parker Patefield and Aiden Peterson both singled and scored; Reece Ames accounted for a RBI and run scored as Spencer Moormeier scored.

Sturm (43 pitches) started the opening three innings allowing one hit while striking out three batters and walking one. Endicott (41) worked an inning and two-thirds allowing an earned run off one hit while striking out four batters, walking two and hitting one. Ames (18) closed out the final inning and a third allowing one hit while striking out three batters.

For Wakefield, Ruben Vega doubled as Jacob Birkley singled and drove in a run. Matthew Metzler singled as Landon Newton scored.

Zeke Ramirez (73 pitches) suffered the loss in three innings allowing four runs off four hits while walking five batters and hitting two.

Newton (36) worked two innings allowing five runs (two earned) off four hits while striking out three batters and hitting one. Drake McAfee (37) pitched two-thirds of an inning allowing eight runs (one earned) while striking out one batter, walking five and hitting one. Turner Thompson (3) worked a third of an inning allowing an earned run off two hits while striking out one batter.
