WSC begins week with 3-0 sweep

A series of three matches on the road began Friday night for #6 Wayne State College volleyball.

From Lysaker Gymnasium in Crookston, Minnesota, WSC visited Minnesota Crookston.

The Wildcats picked up a 3-0 sweep over UMC. WSC is now 11-2 (5-0 NSIC) as the Golden Eagles fell to 3-9 (0-4 NSIC).

Scores of the match favored WSC 25-14, 25-18, 25-18.

Channatee Robles recorded 13 kills, six digs and a block; Brooklyn Kusler followed with 10 kills, four digs and a block; Molly Romano posted 33 assists, five digs, one kill and one solo block as Brooke Peltz led the team in digs with 13.

Taya Beller added nine kills, two digs and three blocks (one solo) as Maggie Brahmer (.533) tallied eight kills, one dig and two blocks. Other digs came from Anna Borner (five), Jordie Nekl (two) and Taylor Bunjer with two blocks (one dig).

Nekl finished with three service aces, Kusler and Beller both had two aces as Robles and Borner each added an ace.

Wayne State College outhit Minnesota Crookston, .402 to .165. WSC also held advantages in points (56-43), kills (41-36), aces (9-6), blocks (6-1) and assists (37-25).
