Tim grew up in Hartington, graduated from Hartington High School and married Claudette M. Hochstein on Aug. 30, 1958. Early on Tim worked on many projects within the state, utilizing his skills as a heavy equipment operator. Most notably Highway 11 by Atkinson. There he did the dirt work for the highway/bridges that are still utilized today. In 1960, Tim and Claudette took over the family farm where they raised cattle, hogs, chickens and had a large garden to feed the five kids. He was extremely proud of having the farm in the family for over 100 years and received the Pioneer Award the summer of 2024. While working on the farm, Tim also worked for the Cedar County road department for many years, dirt work/drove truck for several different entities and finished his career driving to Albert Lea, Minnesota up into his 70’s delivering trailers.
Tim truly loved visiting with people and giving them a “hard” time as many may know. Countless hours on the phone connecting with people or stopping by to visit was time he cherished. Let’s celebrate Tim’s death by connecting, chatting, and drinking coffee as he so much loved.
