Ron Dalton home is judged Best Lighted

The Ron Dalton home at 916 Walnut Street in Wayne has been voted the best example of Christmas lighting in the city's annual lighting contest.

Taking second place in the event, sponsored each year by the city and the Kiwanis Club, was Dalton's next-door neighbor, the Larry DeForges home at 920 Walnut.

Taking third in the contest was the Mike Mallette house of 118 Wilcliff Drive.

Interestingly enough, the Ron Daltons now live in the house previously owned by the Mallettes.

The top three winners will receive gift cards worth $15 and $10 toward the purchase of any electrical appliance in the city.

The city provides the gift certificates and the local club holds the contest each Christmas season.

One of the judges for the contest said there were many good lighting displays this year, but the cold weather seemed to keep some residents from putting their displays up.

Along with chairman of the Kiwanis Club committee in charge of the contest, Cal Ward, Kiwanians Keith Mosley and Deryl Lawrence helped on the committee.
