Airport field dedication is scheduled for Oct. 14

A dedication ceremony will be held Friday, Oct. 14 during the weekly Chamber Coffee to name a portion of the Wayne Municipal Airport the Stan Morris Field.

Stan Morris has been involved with the airport for many years, serving as a member of the first Airport Authority in the 1970's.

Morris makes daily trips to the airport, assisting the airport manager in numerous activities.
Morris was the owner of Morris Machine, which became a part of the Wayne community in 1948. He was instrumental in helping get a baseball field built in Wayne and was one of the first chosen as Citizen of the Year.

A plaque recognizing Morris will be placed near the pilot's lounge. The public is invited to attend.
