Virginia “Ginny” Lee Pierpoint was born Feb. 28, 1951, in Wayne, the daughter of Colburn and Margaret (Fanske) Olson. She lived in Wayne, on Lincoln Street right across the street from Bressler Park until her father, Cob Olson, died in 1964.  She was confirmed in the Methodist Church Wayne,  where her mother, Margaret Olson, played the organ and attended Wayne Public Schools through junior high school.

After her father died in 1964, Ginny and her mother moved to Lakewood, Colorado, to be closer to her sisters Renie and Patty living in Colorado.  She attended junior high school and graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Colorado. Then she went to Northeastern College in Sterling, Colorado.  The classes she liked most were Art, Design, Fashion and Psychology.  This led her to Cosmetology school in Lakewood, Colorado, and she became a certified hair care stylist from 1971 to 1977. Ginny had various careers in her life  as a hair care stylist, an owner/operator of a tanning salon,  a Redken Hair Care Representative, an entrepreneur with a successful cleaning business, and a Real Estate Agent.

Throughout her life she remained in touch with her Wayne classmates and made it a priority to attend as many Chicken Days celebrations as possible, especially the year of her Class’s reunion. She joined the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wheatridge, Colorado, speaking warmly of their fellowship, caring, and sharing.  Since she always wanted to go back to her roots in Wayne, when she retired, do believe God lead her to Covenant …they provided her that same warm loving support her childhood Wayne Methodist church had provided.

Ginny had a great for love for all creatures great and small, surrounding herself with loving dogs. And those dogs provided her with all the love she lavished on them. She loved the beauty of nature growing beautiful flower gardens and keeping the birds close to her windows. Creativity, having fun, and helping others were some of her outstanding gifts.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to entertain and cook delightful feasts for her guests.  Her hospitality and caring for others were wonderful gifts.  As per her wishes she will return to Wayne and  be buried at Greenwood Cemetery.

She is survived by her sisters Norriene Leeling (Golden, Colorado) and Patricia (Robert) Chick (Huntington Beach, California , and her nieces Caryn (Ray) Gonzales, Cynthia (Chris) Mellow, and Candice Chick, all of California, as well as grandnieces Edie and Mary Margaret, and grandnephews Ethan and Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
