Wayne Pony Baseball teams conclude regular season with road victories, tournament started Wednesday

With the Tri County League Tournament bracket posted, both of the Wayne Pony youth baseball teams played their final regular season league games.

From Winnebago, Wayne White (11-2 overall/10-1 Tri County League) picked up a 13-1 win at Winnebago.

Wayne White held a 2-1 lead after the first inning before scoring a run in the second. The Wayne White Ponies then produced three runs in the third and seven more runs in the fourth to win 13-1 and win the hit department, 8-3.

Easton Endicott singled, tripled, drove in a run and scored three times while Camden Hall singled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice.

Parker Zara singled and drove in four runs; William Patefield singled, drove in a run and scored three times; Remyngton Rager singled and drove in a run; Noah Magnuson singled; Angel Chavez accounted for a RBI and two runs scored; Evan Greve added a RBI and run scored as Colston Startzl and Maddux Hetihold both scored.

Hall (52 pitches) picked up the complete game victory in four innings allowing an earned run off three hits while striking out four batters, walking one and hitting one.

In Wisner, Wayne Blue (10-4 overall/10-1 Tri County League) came from behind to win 14-13 at Wisner.

Wayne Blue held a 5-2 lead after the first inning before adding three more runs in the second to lead 8-2. Wisner answered back with an 8-1 advantage in the third to lead 10-9. Both teams scored a run in the fourth and Wisner extended their lead to 13-11 thanks to a 2-1 sixth. In the top of the seventh, the Wayne Blue Ponies produced three runs and held onto the 14-13 victory and outhit Wisner, 13-5.

Reece Ames recorded two home runs (a two-run homerun and one solo), singled twice, drove in three total runs and scored four total runs; Treycn Ocampo posted a solo homerun and scored two total runs; Karter Hays singled twice and drove in three runs; Kash Haase singled twice, drove in a run and scored; Aiden Peterson and Liam Rockhill both doubled, drove in a run and scored twice as Blake Smith doubled, drove in a run and scored.

Easton Gamble singled, drove in a run and scored as Cale Eischeid scored.

Ames (64 pitches) picked up the win in the final four and a third innings allowing three runs while striking out nine batters and hitting three. Smith (32) started the opening two innings allowing two runs (one earned) off three hits while striking out three batters. Ocampo (36) worked two-thirds of an inning allowing eight runs off two hits while striking out, walking a batter and hitting one each.
